I am a lifetime resident of Wheatland, and a 5th generation local resident.  I attended Wheatland schools and Yuba College, and received my bachelors degree in music and teaching credential from the University of the Pacific in Stockton.  I teach band at Riverside Meadows Intermediate School in the Plumas Lake School District, and own Buttes Insurance Agency along with my brother Bob.  We have been in business in Wheatland continuously since our father started the agency nearly 60 years ago.  I have been married to Judy for 24 years, and have three children: Casey, 22; Aaron, 16; Caitlin, 15.

Council Member Jay Pendergraph

Jay Pendergraph grew up in Haw River and Graham, North Carolina.  After graduating from High School he worked in North Carolina for approximately a year then joined the United States Air Force.  After Basic Training he was assigned to Mather Air Force Base in California where he met his wife in 1982 and married in 1989. They have two children, Lawrence and Erik.  Jay served in the United States Air Force for 24 years holding various positions for Security Forces and retired from active duty in February 2006. He is presently employed with the Department of Defense in Yuba County.
